hello, i have the same drive, running the latest firmware byx4. is your firmware up to date if not go here. http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/dru710adwn.htm can you go into my computer, right click the drive, click open or explore when a cd is in the drive. peace
yes I have the latest firmware, and no if I go to my computer, and hit open or explre with a disk in, it says drive is empty. Kayleen
This is a strange one it is usually the oposite way around? hmmmm So it will play and recognize DVD's hu? Is this drive older or is it new? If older did it ever read CD's before? What CD/DVD burning/playing software do you have loaded on your system?
the burner is only about 6mo old, yes it used to read cd's but no more,I have all the usual software nero,clone cd dvd, one clic dvd. But I can't pinpoint when it stopped reading cd's..but sony gave me a song and dance about motherboard settings etc. Thanks alot for reply, Kayleen
