Hi, i'm having problems with my Sony burner burning dvds too slow. I'm using HP DVD+R 16x media and they seem to be burning at 8x, even though i have it set to burn at 16x using Nero. By the way, this is an external burner and i also have an internal Sony DRX-530A burner installed, would that cause the problem? Im using Windows Xp and have already downloaded the firmware for the drive but still no luck. Hope someone can help!

your problem could be that HP media is junk. I have the same exact burner you have and have no problems with burn speed using my 16x verbs. It could be slower if you are using usb 1.0 instead of 2.0 or the other ports that are available on it.
