Sony DRX810UL External DVD burner

I just bought a DRX810UL external DVD burner, i just want to ask some expert about this burner. Is it a good burner? Is it worth it for $129.99. I have tried it and it seen to burn really good with my Vaio laptop. the only thing i don't like is i have to varify the data on disc to make it readable with other dvd drive and I'm using Nero. I have a Pioneer burner and i didn't have to check the box say Verify data on disc and the DVD burned out work fine on a DVD drive but with this Sony burner i have to check that box and it take more time is there way to fix this.
