    Hi if any body has a Sony DVD recorder ie RDR-GXD500 in my case .If the unit sticks on channel five reset the box and switch off the auto-update for EPG. This is the explanation I got from SONY;They said that the unit looks for the EPG from Channel Five and will lock up as it can not find any info from Channel Five, which does not transmitte any. Switching OFF will sort the problem out!
