I have a Sony VGC-RA826G. Everything works great. I just need to update the firmware on the DVD burner, so that I can use higher speed discs. The drive is a "SONY DVD RW DW-D22A bfs1", per my device manager. I understand that this is a rebadged LiteOn 1633s drive. I tried using the LiteOn flash, but nothing happened. What is the difference between the BYS and the BFS? Does this matter? I was unable to use the actual Sony upgrade, b/c I do not have a VGC-RB30 model---even though the DVD writer is exactly what I have. The installation just shut itself down once it detected that. I'm new to this. Please help.
