    Hi

So I have a Sony Grand Wega KF-E50A10 and a Sony DVP-NS-70H and I'm connecting the dvd player to the wega with an hdmi cable. The problem I am having (not that it doesn't work,) it's just that I don't believe I'm getting the solid picture quality out of the dvd player/hdmi cable that I should be.

I am looking for some ideas on settings for both the TV and DVD player to allow them to play together properly with good quality; right now I have some noticeable screen noise, lackluster color and the sharpness isn't so sharp. I have played with the video settings (or display settings on the dvd player) to no avail!

Thanks in advance for all your time and patience!

    Jim

I'm gonna give this a shot, so bear with me. First I would suggest (if you haven't already) setting the player's output to 720p as this is the native resolution of your set. Turn off the enhancements for the DVD player if any are on, i.e. black levels, color enhancements, etc. Generally, for Sony sets, cnet has historically recommended turning off all enhancements, like noise reduction, DRC, settings in the advanced menu: black level enhancer, live color, clear white, etc. There are some setting recommendations that Cnet has made for the next gen Sony LCoS sets, which has many of the same features as your set. You will find them here:

    Good Luck!
