My Sony Projection LCD set is going to need a replacement DLP bulb/lamp.

The LAMP light came on the other day, and we've noticed the brightness kinda of flickers a little, especially in the first 20 to 30 mins of turning on the set.

As I understand it I'll need a new bulb soon but at cheap rates. Is there a source for these Sony lamp/bulbs cheaper anywhere?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    THANKS

Lamp is an important part of LCD Tvs. Its life can be extended by following some precautionary measures like some lamps have air filters and you have to clean them after time to time or as far as lamp is concerned, you have to replace it after some time spans.
I suggest you some lamps. Hope they will be helpful for you.
    Good Luck!

Most rear projection televisions are delivered with their color setting on the brightest picture setting, which can reduce the estimated lamp life to less than half.To extend the lamp life of your rear projection television one recommended action is to change the default color setting (and contrast) you are using to watch TV.what is the exact model number of your projection set? I recommend you to first go for a repairman and for buying a new lamp, try this

How long have you had the TV? has it ever been serviced?
I would recommend calling Sony to see if you have a warranty to cover it.. if not you may want to ask to see if they let you buy an extended warranty.

If you do want to buy an extra replacement lamp i recommend
    Sony replacement bulb

If you can include pictures of the problem we can diagnose it better.

    Good luck!

Have you reseated the lamp? Also try reopening the cover and putting it back, maybe the sensor for the lamp cover is not fully pressed in... Let me know what happens...

    Checked out all the connections.
    Clean the air filters.
Place the Tv in some ventilated area/ room.

Try this....Sony LCD Replacement Lamp Update

By the way, which model do you have?

meesam, As i understand its right its looking like a bulb problem. Might be a possibility that there could be a ballast problem.

as you know ballast the source through which the lamp is connected. Well you can't get lamps at cheap rates as this is an expensive product.

But you did not specify any model???

    Try this Sony Lamp....

    Might solve your problem!!!!
    cheers
