How does one bypass Sony protection...I've tried DVD43 and DVD Decrypter... If I have the right stuff to do it how do I get it to run properly.

CloneDVD 2 copies movies to create unparalleled picture quality DVD backups, whether it’s the main title you’re copying or the complete DVD. CloneDVD will compress long footage at high speed to the highest of quality using specialised transcoding technology, allowing you to select your audio and language settings and also the final target size. Easy for even the novice user, CloneDVD’s intuitive Filmstrip assistant guides you through all the available configuration settings, allowing you to choose which chapters to include and offering the option to trim individual chapters.

A visual quality bar shows how your configuration choices affect the quality of the final copy. Note that copying protected DVDs also requires AnyDVD.
AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software.

AnyDVD is capable of removing unwanted movie features, including subtitles and prohibition messages such as copyright and FBI warnings. It also allows you to launch an external application whenever you insert or remove a disc, or prevent 'PC-friendly' software from automatically launching when you insert a video DVD.

All you have to do is start up AnyDVD and continue using your normal compression engine, whether it's shrink, recode or CloneDVD, It's that easy.

Here is the free way of making perfect backups:

    1) DVDFab Decrypter - this will break the movies encryption while ripping the movie to your HDD

    http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

    2) VobBlanker - Not always needed, but it will get rid of any protection that DVDFD left behind. VobBlanker also allows you to blank, replace, cut and strip titles.

    3) DVDShrink - this will allow you to compress the movie to fit onto a blank DVD-5 disc. Select your output as an ISO image

    Hi tobatim

Ive just started using ripit4me to find out how it works and its really nice to use Dvddecrypter and Shrink again, but the most impressive part is Imgburn - its amazing. Thats the tool that burns the Iso file to disc. When you download it gives you the option to change Dvddecrypter so it burns with Imgburn and I found a version of shrink that gives you the option of burning with it as well. As its been developed by LUK (developer of Dvddecrypter)I've wanted to try it for some time.

It seems far superior to Nero 6 which I have used for some time with DvdFabDecrypter which seems to have a bug in its latest version (3.0.4.0).

    Regards.

i personally haven't had any problems with DVDFab, nor 3.0.4.0 specifically, but it's always possible others might have the odd problem with it..

    Hi Creaky,

Wasn't a thread started about a week ago where somebody had a problem with it and didn't Ireland post a link to another site where the author said there was a problem or was it all a dream?

    Regards

    ...sooo many threads. possibly :)
though in regard to ireland specifically i know he'd started an AnyDVD thread where there were probs with AnyDVD, can't remember if he'd commented on a DVDFab problem though.

edit- you're quite right, here it is - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/423730

i just haven't had problems myself yet....

I had 2 this afternoon - burn failures using Nero 6 after using DvdFab. I was getting windows popping up from Nero I've never seen before and I've had the program over 2 years.

May I ask a question? Why no Imgburn section or are you leaving it up to LUK's own site?

    Regards

Ok - Nero 6 would stop during advanced analysis and a pop up would appear with 'Unknown Error'. The drive locked so I couldn't get the disc out and Nero wouldn't shut down. I had to reboot to sort it out. Then I switched off advanced analysis and tried going directly to encoding and the same happened. Felt like DvdFab had ripped bad data.

Don't like saying too much as I feel I'm hijacking tobatims thread who posted in good faith.

Thanks Creaky perhaps I will do that. The Nero problem sent me down the FixIt4Me road and Imgburn. A burn with Nero would take about 40mins whereas with Imgburn about 10. Amazing. Anyway thanks for the time and help -
