I was checking out the PSP and it is pretty expensive, but it looks pretty nice with all the features it has.Would it be worth buying the PSP system. If so what do you like about the system if you own it,and what are its advantages.I'm not really a handheld console person to be honest, but the PSP is alot different than the other handheld consoles out.

If the PSP is able to play homebrew applications and emulation then I would consider getting one. Currently there are some emulators working but from what I understand they are far from perfect. The current set of games appear to just be mostly rehashes of existing PS2 games so nothing has been a must-have for me yet.

My kids have gameboys and I find the games much more suited to a handheld. With the GBA Player for the Game Cube you can also play the same GBA game on your TV. Looking at the upcoming game list on EB Games for both systems show a lot more titles upcoming for the GBA and DS than the PSP, so that's another factor I would look at. I figure I will replace the kids current GBA with the DS before buying a PSP myself.

I am glad I'm getting some honest responses, yeah the PSP system doesn't really look suitable for homebrew.Good call Xian, never really looked at that to be honest.Nintendo can come out with some pretty good games for the handhelds, but it kinda lacks the movie support.I guess I could get a portable Dvd player and just wait for the PS3 system. The PS3 system looks awesome I agree marcus23 will definately get that when it first comes out.The GameCube is the best I have seen for homebrew so far, with easy load of .dol files and so forth.I never really looked into the DS system to be honest, but yeah I am gonna have to check that bad boy out when I get a chance ;).

my job is really boring so the psp gives me something to do when otherwise i would just be sat doing nothing atall, and its much better than any gameboy or ds if you ask me.

i am getting a little bored of it though but that is only because i have just 1 game so far and ive played it to death.

I actually like it, it gives me something to tinker with...i think i really just like to see what programs i can get to run on it...especially the emulators...plus it's kinda fun to play mike tyson's punchout while sitting at work ;)
