I have been told by a tech at Eclipse Radio that sonic software, used by Sony, adds an extension to music files called "eight track"???
I must have missunderstood him because I have never heard of that. Does anyone know what he might be referring to?
I purchased an Eclipse radio for my vehicle and it can read from a Memory Stick Duo card so I put mpe songs on it, it did not read them. I called and the tech said I had to use a sony card reader, Sonic software and this "8 Track" file extension. HELP??

That's a good one. LOL. Either the salesman is an idiot or you didn't hear correctly. I'm leaning towards first option. LOL. I think what he was trying to say was ATRAC. That's a Sony propietary format. It was widely used on their portables like Mini Disc and Sony Network Walkman. In my opinion is a good lossy format, but it was no match for MP3 which is an established (almost public) format.

    PS I can't stop laughing...
