Hi I saw broken reciever on craigslist for five bucks so I figured I'd take a shot at fixing it. So I figured out that it is the voltage amplifier stage thats drawing too much current for some reason. Through the process of testing I accidentally shorted what I am guessing was the positive power to the case. Dang. So I am guessing a regulator somewhere is busted but I need to know which one. A service manual would be reeeely nice right about now. I suppose no one has or knows where I could get an STR-K840P manual. Or maybe, I saw this website where you could pay five bucks for a month and download a bunch of service manuals the website is: http://www.free-service-manuals.com/ Does anybody have an account here? Maybe someone could download it and email it to me? That would be awesome. Well I hope someone can help me but if I have to fork over the five bucks, I guess thats okay too. Thanks a lot Cody
I found the service manual. Some free site called hifiengine.com . Now I just have to figure the dang thing out.
