First question I have a x64 Laptop Must I use windows x64 or is x32 ok? I own XP Home x32 and XP pro x64? ok when I try to install the OS I get the blue screen of death I believe this is due to the software not having my SATA/RAID drivers on the disk So I downloaded the drivers from intel. I have an external floppy drive that I put the drivers on. When I insert the software I press F6 to load the Driver. A screen Comes up and lists about 20 Drivers Which one do I use? I tried many of them and pc still crashes. What am I doing wrong and what driver do I use out of the 20? laptop has a IntelĀ® 4 Series Chipset. I have tried both XP x32 and XP pro x64 Files. (Files f6flpy6486 & f6flpy3286) It's # 8 on the list, Floppy Configuration Utility I been trying/testing different ways for a week know I need help If I left out any info you need please let me know. I'm willing to try anything. Thank you so Much I can't go on with my life until I figure this out.
Boy this website really went to hell. All the original people that used to help have left. 6 years ago my question would have been answered 2 minutes after I left it.
I will try to help u as best as i can but i am going on vacation for a week. First you should be able to install either Os. Your assumption about the raid drivers was correct if it is a hardware raid set from your mb bios. Third if you know your mb manufacture it may be easyer to get the right drivers like ( asus, abit, gigabyte, and intel) right from there website also the model number would be helpful.
Sorry about that last post I was very Frustrated and that was very inappropriate of me. Thank you for Trying to help But I just Had to find the Right Driver. I loaded and watched my pc crash about 30 times before I found the right one.
I am having this same problem. Any chance you can tell me which drivers you used? and where to get them? Any help is much appreciated, thanks.
Maybe anyone can help? I have Sony VGN-CS115J, but can format and install windows xp ;\ when loading from cd, i see blue screen error :| where i can download driver for that?
I found them If you don't have a usb floppy drive your going to have to slipstream them into them a disc. It's #8. on the list 32-bit Floppy Configuration Utility the file you want to load is ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI driver
