I have some experience with backing up DVDs, but this one has given me nothing but problems. I've tried it with a Mac, using Mac the Ripper & DVD2One. I am now using my PC, which does not have DVD Recorder yet (it's on the way and will be here later this week), but I know I can simply try this and have the file waiting for when I get the burner. Now I'm trying it using DVD Decrypter and I keep getting to 51% and getting errors. Here's what it says: I/O Error Device: [1:0:0] SAMSUNG CDRW/DVD SM-308B T100 (E (ATA) ScsiStatus: 0x02 Interpretation: Check Condition CDB: 28 00 00 1F 53 00 00 01 00 Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector: 2060627 Sense Area: 700003000000000A00000000020000000000 Interpretation: No Seek Complete Anyone got any ideas? I truly appreciate any help!
If you are having a problem with this disk try cleaning it, or take it back and get another original. There is no special protection on this disk. You can try DVD Fab Decrypter available from http://www.filepedia.com look under rippers, this program can sometimes deal better with defective disks. I have backed up all five seasons of the Sopranos just using Shrink alone.
Thanks for the advice. I downloaded DVDFab and it looks like it's getting stuck at the same place. Could be the hardware, but since I've tried it on a Mac Laptop and now a PC Desktop you're making me think it may be the disk. I'll see what I can do - thanks for the help!
Doubt if it is the hardware, it is more than likely the disk especially since it get stuck in the same place. Your best bet is to try another original. Good luck
