Hello i'm new to this website but not new to "Backuping up DVD's" :)

Just want to say that this site [bold]OWNS ALL[/bold] and i appreciate the owners of this site putting it up

My real question is i have a

Mobile AMD Sempron Proccessor 28000+ 16000
480MB of ram thats cause i increased the VM

    Slimtype DVDRW SOSW-852S
    TYPE >> DVD+R/RW DL Recorder
    Firmware >> PSD1

Primary IDE >> DMA if available >> ultra DMA mode 5
Secondary IDE >> DMA if avaiable >> Ultra DMA 2

on the nero info tool it says i have

    Read Speed 24x
    Write Speed 24x

But i only burn in 4x i really am not a hardware guy and i wanted to ask was there some kind of firmware like PSD2 or sometihng that can boost my burning speed ? I don't have any issue backing up my dvd's its just that i would like for my Burner to burn a little bit faster. i looked on averatec for firmware but it had nothing
i checked google i got a lot of hits but a lot of the links were broken. Help would be appreciated

    Thanks

I researched your drive and this is what came up.

    WRITE SPEEDS
    CDR CDRW 24X MAX
    DVD-R DVD+R 4X MAX
    DVD-RW 2.4 MAX

    READ SPEEDS
    24X CD MAX
    8X DVD MAX
You can check this link for a hacked firmware for your drive. That sometimes helps increase speeds.

    Hope this helps.

Hard to say off hand. Does Nero info tool show the new firmware version?
It just may be that your drive is at its max performance. Run the nero drive speed test and see how you make out.
