Sound Card Driver Problems

    Hi there everyone, im sorry if ive posted this in the wrong place i wasnt sure where to post.

    anyway, my computer decided to eat itself, so i reinstalled windows and all works perfect except i have no sound.

    i have downloaded many drivers for my computer and so far no luck! :(

    Hi Smartyp,

    1, Have you downloaded the driver from HP website
    2, Have you tried Windows update (hardware updates)
    3, Does device Manager show a problem

    1, that was the first thing i did, and no luck :(
    2, not a legit copy, i lost my original disc so dotn want to update and things yet unless neccessary
    3, it shows up with the yellow ? thingy

    Has you comp got a S/R No on the back ?

    What OS are you using?

    S/R No << ??

    and im using XP professional

    S/R No is a number that is located on a sticker somewhere on the back of the comp.

    i have the original product key,
    system number, and serial number

    any of these??

    That has not helped im afraid, do you know the exact model of SR1700 you have?

    it looks like you may have to uninstall curreny driver.

    Install this

    Then install this
