Sound card

    I have no idea what is wrong with the sound card in my emachines laptop. When I got the laptop it was fine but now, about 8 weeks later it does not even show that it has a sound card. Video plays but there is no sound, anyone that knows about sound cards please help.

    is there an unknown device in the device manager if the sound card is not showing up??

    yeah there is a yellow question mark under other devices.

    that is probably your sound card so install it off your driver cd for the laptop

    can I find the drivers online I do not know were the laptop cd went.

    if you know what the card is supposed to be than try the manufacturer of either the soundcard chipset or motherboard chipset
