Sound on computer

    is there anyone who can help me get the sound back on my computer? it says no sound device detected on computer. Someone told me i would have to install the sound card again but i don't the install disk and i don't what kind of sound card it is can someone please help thanks.

    It is possible that your sound card has died altogether.

    What OS are you running?

    If you are running WIndows and go to the device Manager, do you show and "Unknown Devices with a yellow question mark or exclamation point?

    If you don't show any, the computer doesn't see the card/sound hardware and you might plan on getting a new sound card.

    Not knowing ANYTHING about your hardware is bad. At this point your sound card could be built in, or an add-on card. Do you have at least the make/model number?

    If you can't figure some of those things out you May have to take your PC in for repair. We are all here to help, but we're not psychic.

    dphi, what is the make & model# of the computer or motherboard?

    search in google for drivers, type the name of your motherboard if you have sound card integrated
