Hi ,Can anyone help an elderly Chimp, indulging in a learning curve. I just uninstalled Nero Trial Version using Revo Uninstaller but inadvertently deleted whatever, that enables sound. Now I cannot play audio & the following window pops up."Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly". Any advice anyone please.

Reinstal Windows Media Player (WMP). That should fix the problem. Try downloading the free version of Media Monkey. It has a great burn routine. Not one person has ever complianed of asked one question about the burn routine. The main complaint is there are too many options so it is confusing.

It is a great app with no hidden agendas (Darth Vader subroutines to punish the user). I was just on the ipod forum. The ipod has a new Darth Vader subroutine. It disables the ability to access the ipod from a computer if you connect with a different computer than your normal one. That is a kill because you can't fix it from a computer. I have always warned friends that itunes is the kiss of death. I never guessed it would get this crazy.

The easy way would be to use system restore and go back to the last point before you deleted Nero and the trouble started. You might use windows uninstaller or nero's uninstaller to get rid of Nero.

Nero has a "clean" tool you can use for a complete uninstall.
Look for it on the website, I believe it's version specific.
