I am having problems with sound in a couple of divx and xvid rips. On one of my pc's (with an duron 1gig,8mb all-in-wonder and sound blaster Live) the sound pops and crackles, yet I can play the movie on my other pc (1gig athlon, soundblaster 5.1, geforece 2) with no problems. I am wondering if it has to do with the 5.1 sound. Should i remix the movie down to 2-channel stereo?
just a thought, if you wanted to be 100% sure that this was the problem, swap sound cards between your two computers and see if the problem goes away on the first pc and if it shows up on your second pc.
