What audio are you playing, what are you connecting the optical output to?

Have you checked in your onboard audio software that optical is enabled, and that your receiver is set up correctly for optical input?

um im not shure how to enable to it, theres no on or off buttons for it, and the reciever is set correctly. Do i have to use the realtek player for my music so it outputs through the digital optical output?
