Due the today's spam attack against our site, couple of prevention techniques have been introduced. Most of them will be invisible to normal users, but one notable thing is now in use: Newbies can reply to posts only every 3 minutes (180 seconds). This prevents automated attacks against our forums -- and in any case, shouldn't limit anyone's use of the site, as I personally think you should always put more than 3 minutes' worth of thought to your posts..
Good method dRD. This will give time for the mods to come in and investigate. It's only newbies this effects and not Seniors and Addicts as you said.
Thanks drD even though i'm not a senior. This is a great site and sometimes knowledgeable folks waste time flaming spammers when there are folks that really need help.
thanks dRD! now maybe newbies don't do so many doubles ;-) ..because they have to wait if they want do doubles
i have mixed feelings on this, since banning spammers and idiots is like one of the only true joys i get out of life anymore. oh well, i suppose we need to keep the masses happy. see what we go thru for you people!!! well ok i guess most of you are worth it
I personally think this is a great idea. Because in the long run the spammers will goo away as quick as they come. And the aD user that comes here for real reasons will stay for the long run.
That's good. It may not stop them completely but it's better than having newbs crying about this site.
Thank you dRD, I've been waiting for this for awhile @gamename Only newbies have this restriction. Since you are a member, feel free to type as fast as you can. The faster you type, the more you help people. Unless you just make a bunch of typos like me and people get more confused after reading your post
dRD Thanks for this - I agree with matt72 totally that this is a great site indeed and that time is wasted when people could be helping others as and when they need it. I'm a Junior Member at the moment. Instead, people probably spend time clearing up after the spammers, which is a waste of everyone's time anyway. Please keep up the good work on AD. Regards
