Hi, i turned on my pc like usual and i noticed something, the speaker in the system tray does not appear!, I went to the internet and i went to a website that always has music on but i couldnt hear anything. I tried to listen to music from winamp, but no, an error appeared. I googled this and it told me to delete some drivers and then reboot my pc, so i did. But out of like 5 drivers, i only got 2 back! Please help me on this, this pc is practically new. thanks

when you re-installed the drivers, did it properly install and enable your soundcard? go into the system under control panel, and click device manager. make sure there's not yellow exclamation points next to your sound device and that the drivers are properly installed.

and there is still no sound coming out from any applications? in control panel, under sound devices, and you sure your sound card is selected as the default device?

No, there's no sound at all, I cant even hear my mouse click. Yes, my sound card is selected. I don't know why the speaker dissapeared, but that's the only thing that's holding me back. If I could only put it back on the corner where it belongs.

wow thats strange. is your PC a store bought (HP, Dell...) or a custom built one? If its a store bought, try visting the manufacturer's website, and search for your model number, and see if there's any new audio drivers released than the current one you have. if you have a custom built one, try this (I guess you could do it for a store bought one as well): uninstall the audio drivers, then shut down your computer. now open up your computer, and remove the sound card. move the card up or down into a different PCI slot. now turn on your computer, and it should automatically install the card. see if that works.

    edit 4 typo
