I recently purchased Intel DG31PR motherboard. Computer works fine when a single SATA hard disk is connected, but when i connect another SATA hard disk or SATA optical drive, it becomes slow and frequently freezes. None of the file copy operations complete. I have tried both XP as well as Vista, the issue is the same.
Configuration - Core 2 Duo 1.6 Mhz 3 GB RAM Intel DG31PR motherboard 500 GB Seagate SATA I tried installing Windows Vista x64. It dosen't install and gives me this error. "This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in computer's BIOS menu". Please help !!!
Soo ok go into bios and then go ro the disks controller section im not sure where it can be exactly the bios's can be different for each motherboard. soo ya go into bios and enable the controller and keep me posted after that too see if it installs windows or not. With those specs its amazing how ur computer is running slow.
The controller is enabled.... Besides I loaded the optimzed defaults just be sure... but nothing's changed... Should I flash the BIOS in recovery mode ???
i am just wondering if it would install any Windows Operating System. Have you got Win XP CD try to install that and see if that works if it does it may just be the Vista CD you are using if XP does not work then u may need to take your computer to a technician to have a look if the hardware is faulty.
