hi guys...having had a prob with a disc or two (pixelation/freezing) Im trying to eliminate the cause step by step.Im pretty sure its not the media (happens on ridata/infinity/ritek unbranded) and the back up process has always seemed ok..decrypter/dvd20n3/nero.Ive run nero cd and dvd speed tests all perfect with straight lines on the incline.Checked the surface scan and file tests, all fine.When I use dvdinfopro file check, again everythings fine, but using the rpm speed test, nearly all my discs show tangled green and yellow lines,sharp acceleration and deceleration of drive speed and data transfer.Which of these tests should i believe?Is there another program i could use?I make sure i dont multitask, drives are defragged daily,whats going on?!!!
Turn off all non-essential programs running in the background. I use "enditall" http://home.ptd.net/~don5408/toolbox/enditall/ (it does work with XP) You don't need to defrag that much. Still could be a bad disk.
