Hi, I'm using a Dell Inspiron 640m with a Intel 945g grapics chip and when ever I try to use the heat vision goggles Splinter Cell crashes, instantly, no error message.

Anyone any ideas what i can do about this? Unfortunately I don't have a desktop i can use for gaming, well, it's much older than the laptop so would barely reach the mimimum specs.

    Thanks,

Which Splinter Cell game are you referring to? Run a Google on Splinter Cell xxxxxx System Requirements. Check to see if you meet ALL the requirements. Pay special to SUPPORTED video cards. If you don't meet all the requirements or if you video card is not supported, you may or may not be able to run the game. It could crash, fail, or act weird at any time.

'Splinter Cell', the first one... Patched to version 1.03 Would have said if it was any other version! :) My system meets all of the requirements, and greatly exceeds them... I've actually had convermation from Ubisoft developers that there isn't any hardware incompatability with the 945g chip.

I looked at the Splinter Cell site and 3DGamers for patches. There is a v1.2b for the game available. There is a Euro/Asian v1.3 available. See if these do anything for you. If your specs exceed the requirements and if Ubisoft developers say no problem, then I am out of ideas. Symptoms like you described usually point to not meeting one or more of the specs.
