Hi I have seen in this Forum that VideoRedo and MPEG2VCR can do this. I don't think the latter can - no mention of anything other than encoding in the program or help. Does anyone have any experience of using a specific program that can do this and give some pointers?

    Thanks

If you have a DVD ripped to a folder (contains .ifo, .bup and .vob files) and wish to save a clip, the easiest method is DVD Shrink in 'Re-author' mode.

1 'Open Files' (the VIDEO_TS folder)
    2 'Re-author'
3 Drag Title 1 from right to left window
4 Choose the clip (right click on the Title that is now in the left pane)
    5 Set compression
6 'Backup' to a new folder

Thanks Attar. That's quite nice, my only reservation is that it is not frame accurate as MPEG2VCR is - it only cuts about every half a second.

This is quite normal. Mpeg is not AVI. It has I, B and P frames and you can only cut on I frame, as that one is only one with full picture information.
