Split music vid dvd into clips

    I have a few dvds with music videos on them. These were recorded from tv and burnt. What would be best way of ripping these to my pc hard drive and then splitting each clip into mpeg 1 or 2?

    I would be inclined to use 'DVD Shrink' in 'Re-author' mode to select each section, save it a a new (small) DVD folder, then use 'VOB2MPEG' to convert the VOB file in the folder to an MPEG file.
