Question: when i finish a mix, it sounds good, there's no gaps, when i split there is gaps and it sounds bad. How can i split the tracks and keep it gapless?

    Thanks :)

If you're trying to get them to some compressed format (WMA, MP3, etc.) you pretty much can't. These formats generally pad the last block so it will be complete. WAV is the only one I know that doesn't have to pad (each sample is by definition complete). All is not hopeless, though. There are gapless players that look ahead and discard the padding. WinAmp, for one, can be set up with a read ahead buffer and thus seamless playback.

yeah i thought that was the case. what do you mean by padding? is it the silence on either end of the track? i want the tracks to be gapless in itunes and ipods as well as being able to burn them to cd gapless.

how do you recommend you split the tracks?
