I am trying to split several avi and mpeg files to burn on VCD. The files themselves are of DVD quality, but when I split them with either VirualDub or TMPGEnc, a LOT of quality is lost. The colors are VERY inconsistant on playback. Can someone please inform me if this is normal or if I am doing something wrong please?

Did you try VCDcutter? Download it from: http://www.dawnload.net/video_software/video_tools/vcdcutter.cfm
