I am trying to split a vcd file. I ripped it with CLAD to C: and it plays in Win Media Player and Power DVD. I encoded it to vcd with TMPGEnc 2.511 and it plays fine in Power DVD but will not play in Win Media Player (v9). I get "The specified module could not be found" error in WMP9. This doesn't worry me but when I try to split it using TMPGEnc 2.511 It can't read the file. I get the error "Could not open this file with DirectShow. (0x8007007E)". I have tried downloading various codecs and codec packs. I have also tried using different splitting programs. Nothing seems to work. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

    Thanks

Well it depends on what you split it to. If when you split it, it was set to MPEG-1 System it won't read it. Winamp will though. When spiltting you should set it to MPEG-1 VIDEO-CD. That should work. If not post back.

    Cheers.

Thanks Hunter007. I can't split the file at all though. I tried what you said with selecting the MPEG-1 VIDEO-CD option just to check if it made a difference but same old TMPGEnc error. "Could not open this file with DirectShow. (0x8007007E)". I should clarify that I can add it to the "Merge and Cut" page but when I click on "Edit" to select the split paramters this is when I get the error. I have a feeling that it is related to something that may be missing on my comuter being as WMP won't play the file but Power DVD plays it fine. As I said though I have tried insta;;ing heaps of codec stuff with no success. Maybe you know what would have to be on my computer for WMP to read a VCD/MPEG file.
