splitting avi (divx e.t.c) or mpeg to make 2vcds

have tried many programs to do this, without success.
i download one large avi file and then want to split into 2 files to encode into mpeg to make 2 vcds. or encode one avi and encode into mpeg and then split after with no luck......any help (i now try to get split files to start with) thankx

 

use tmpgenc to cut the file. Just go to file/mpeg tools then the merge and cut tab. Load up the avi file and select where you would like to cut the file.

have you tried encoding the avi and then spliting with DVtool? for me that seems to work alot better....

 

I am also doing exacly waht you are doing now.But I found a way to do in TMPGEnc.

1.Start TMPGEns.
2.close default wizard.
3.click load button and load template(NTSCfilm)
4.click on settings button.
follow settings explained at this site.

5.It will take 5 or 6 housr.Then use cut and merge tool from TMPGEnc. make 2 files and create VCD's.

I have successfull created two VCD's.But When I am playing them on my DVD ,Picture and voice is breaking with blue,pink purple colour brakes and "pithing" sound.

I have used toolAME.exe for Audio.I have already opend a thread for quality improvement.
