Okay, so I've tried using VirtualDub to split my movies, but I found out that most of my video files have formats that are not supported by VirtualDub, such as Xvid, MP4, or other file formats. Thus, I can't split.

What other programs are good and will allow me to split these files? Thanks.

XviD is just a video codec. VDub won't split raw XviD, it won't split XviD in mp4, mkv, ogm, nut, dsm, etc.

mp4 is not a type of avi, it is a completely different container.
