    Hi all,

Have a brother who lives within a one mile radius of my house (west Dublin). Pretty sure we're on the same cable area (both had Starview V's back in the good old days with the same settings and no Ch**us for either of us). He has multiroom with U*C so, if I borrow his box and bring it back to my house, couldn't we just generally do this on a permanent basis? Do the dark ones of cable TV have detection/prevention methods for this trick?

Without going into too much detail YES what you describe can not only be done but everyone in Ireland should do it.

if he gets an extra box and gives that to another family member, split the cost between 3 and its works out fairly cheap

wasn't aware that you could use u*c multiroom sub in another house. neat. would thought it would be easy to stop this as ip address of boxes would be different from different locations. i know this is not possible with s*y boxes. happy times while it continues to work

sky multiroom requires you to have phone line connected. so the location of box is always identified. which is why i think its strange with upc which has a cable connection. how hard is it to identify where boxes reside on cable !!!
