I used this site about two months ago to remove Spy Sheriff and haven't touched my laptop since yesterday. http://www.delphifaq.com/faq/windows_user/f850.shtml

When I tried to turn it on, I cant get past the logon. It starts up windows and gets to everything right before my backround shows up. The start bar and desktop icons never show up.

So of course, I went into look at the processes to see what was running and I noticed explorer.exe doesn't start up. I tried to put it as a new task but nothing happens, I waited the longest time.

I've also got tasks that I'm unsure of, like csrss and lsass.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I cant do anything with my laptop.

restore back to factory settings would be a choice.if you dotn want to lose your files you can do a system reocvery which lets all factory shipped files back but keeps your files and folders and should get rid of spy sheriff.

    for system restore: Start>All Programs>Acessories>System Tools>System Restore.

Try doing: ctrl+alt+del>File>New Task>type "explorer" and click ok and see if it starts up.

Hey thanks. but I found a problem. I let the computer sit powered up last night and it did a random threat scan automatically and it said it found something called Trojan Goldun. Can I get rid of this? I've been looking this up and some people say it's like a 2 of 3 for danger laver and some are saying like 8 and 9. I think I can remove it, but would I be better off doing a system restore ?
