You are attempting to use outdated spyware programs (e.g. Spysweeper is up to Version 5)- consequently your definitions will be out of date and useless.

Use reliable, up to date spyware programs - recommend Adaware 6.0 and Spybot.

Get rid of all your other junk.

Thanks , But Bit confused As upon taking up your advice webroots homepage is up to version 3.0 Couldnt find any reference to a version 5.0? I have had spybot in the past but it tended to remove dlls , adaware was fine , So whjen I have had the two years payed up in full subs on spysweeper I will more Than likely do just what you suggested Dump My junk! Sadly we all have to learn by our mistakes , Experts are not made overnight and anyone who says they have never installed or made mistakes is telling Porkies, Is it ok then to install adaware with what I have already ? Thanks

I suggest using spybot/ ad aware/ and scan spyware 3.6.
There is also a new one out called spy bouncer, you can get that one from www.majorgeeks.com/ I use all these, and have no prob, at all.

OH ya, one more thing, not sure about spysweeper3.0 being out dated, last time i checked, thats the latest version...

Thanks for your reply , Version 3.0 of spysweeper is the latest version, I uninstalled it as I think i said because there is a bug that well in my case made my pc say goodnight im shutting down, I was told by the company that first they admitted a problem then i had been misinformed then it was suggested I use a registry cleaner on a new pc! I reinstalled version 2.6 all was ok then an old fault with that version reared its head it lost all its definitions, i reinstalled and all was ok again , hence my original thread I wanted to know if other spysweeper users had had similar probs, Incidently regarding version 3.0 It did the same to an old windows 98 se compaq so I know my xp wasnt at fault , ps thanks for the new proggy

Imho I dont see the need to use anymore than one good spyware programme. Ive used ad-adware for some time and couldn't be happier. I think it's too easy for newbie's to get caught up in all this spyware (russian secret-agent propaganda), unless your visiting some seriously dangerous sites your not gonna get busted or even notice any difference in performance by having anymore than i spyware prog running. For example how many newbies have found 'ALEXA' and s**t a brick ;)
