Ok, I have this really messed up Warning... Its a blue wallpaper on my desktop that has some kinda warning message thats poorly written...
This is a URL to the screenshot:
    http://img138.imageshack.us/my.php?image=spywareerrorqv2.png

Alos, I can't bring up task manager. CTRL ALT DEL doesn't work, right clicking taskbar doesn't, and going through menu doesn't... I googled this to find some weird thing where u change the value 0 to 1 or something.... I forget now, I checked and mine was normal, set to 1.

Lastly, the Windows XP shield is in the bottom and a ballon that saids : "Warning: Your computer is infected. Windows has detected spyware infection! Click this message to install the last update of Windows security software."
When I click the link it brings me to a webpage for SpyBurner:
    http://pcsecuritycenter.net/remove_spyware.php?affid=vgx16
I've googled this and found that SpyBurner seems to be the cause of a lot of problems...

    Can anyone help me out?

malwarebytes shouldnt have any problem removing it:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop:

    http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

    * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
    * Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt

if not prompted to reboot, please do so then:
post the above log in your next reply and a new hjt log.

I had the same problem not a week ago and had to flash my computer. I couldn't get anything to remove it. I have since kept a constant backup of everything on my computer so I can flash at any time without any problems. If you do end up flashing try the new windows xp sp3 that just came out about a month ago...

Maybe you will have better luck and not have to start over

Well I removed a few files. Some cracks that were throwing up alerts with housecall and something like sysodk.exe or something like that. Did a few other small tweaks and disables/deletes.

Everything seemed ok then... but I ran MalwareBytes anyway and got a few more infected files. Not to mention running AVG before that (the new Ewido)

Ok here is my new HiJackThis logfile and malwarebytes logfile:

hows it looking now on your end?
you can clean up some entries in the log:

start HJT, click "Do a system scan only" put a checkmark beside the items below, close all windows and click "fix checked".

    Ok there was no:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0edc6c20-a31c-11db-8ab9-0800200c9a66} - (no file)

I cleared that up before I posted my 2nd HJT logfile.
But thanks for the other 2, they are cleared and gone. My system was already back to normal but anything extra is good. Thanks a lot you guys. The help has been greatly appreciated!

    hi,

    check your java version:
Vulnerabilities in Sun Java versions may be exploited and be the cause of some malware via your browser.
you can see what version of Java you have installed here:
    http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

It is very important not only to keep Sun Java up to date but also to remove older versions which have possible vulnerabilities and may be exploited.

    * 1. Uninstall old versions of Sun Java via Add/Remove Programs.

    * 2. Click the Remove or Change/Remove button

    * 3. Reboot your PC if prompted.

    Download the latest version:
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 5

    Download from:

you can make a new restore point: the why and how:

One of the features of Windows ME or XP is the System Restore option, however if a malware infects a computer with this operating system it can be backed up in the System Restore folder. Therefore, clearing the restore points is a good idea after malware is removed.Don't do it on a regular basis.

To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

    (winXP)

    1. Turn off System Restore. (deletes old possibly infected restore point)

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.

    Click Properties.

    Click the System Restore tab.

    Check Turn off System Restore.

Click Apply, and then click OK.

    2. Reboot.

    3. Turn ON System Restore.(new restore points on a clean system)

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.

    Click Properties.

    Click the System Restore tab.

    UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.

Click Apply, and then click OK, then reboot
