    Hey Guys,

I recently purchased a new St*rview 3 the box super, with the help of these forums I managed to update the firmware without problems.
My first reason for the post is regarding the firmware version I should use, post after post mentions various versions but none that I have seen say to use the 8.00e that is available from the link in great man Celtic71's post. Is this firmware ok to use?.

My second question is regarding the reliability of the St*rview 3 boxes, I am currently just installing my 2nd box as the original died a painful death ( display errors on booting (ERR codes)and then total power down or would not boot at all which eventually happened)).
After I had finished loading the firmware I noticed my new box gave me an electrical shock from touching the casing. It seems to be ok when the coax and scart are connected but I would guess this is maybe why the first box died.

Has anyone else suffered reliability problems?.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

    Kam.

Kam firstly that great man Celtic71 is indeed a woman..... oops! and yes the firmware she suggested is indeed the correct one for your box!

secondly i havent heard of anyone getting eltrocuted from the boxes, you should unplug it and check the connections in case you have a loose wire!
finally yours is the first super 3 box i have heard of dying, perhaps it needs Jtagging, you can get the info below my signature for this, in that great man oops lady, post!!

Hi Des, Many thanks for your reply.

Oh Dear, don't I feel silly....many apologies Celtic71, I didn't realise we had a lady in the house.

@ Des, I have checked the connections externally and all look ok, It uses the 2 pin to 3 pin adapter so I will change that and see if it helps.I have emailed my supplier so I will await his response also.

My old box went back under warranty as it was under a month old but I will certainly look into Jtagging for future reference.

    Thanks again m8
