I have a Zenith dvd5201 and my back ups on +r's will play fine but if I back up on a -r it will recognize it as a dvd but won't play, it automatically stops it. I've tried all different brands and the same still happens. I've allready put codes in to make it play vcd's, macro. free and region free.Is there a way to trick it or, program it or, am I fighting a losing battle?
I did some quick research on your player at this site. http://www.videohelp.com. That site says your player does not like -R media. A few owners claim some success using Ritek -R media in playback mode but for the most part it won't play -R. Hope this helps. Jerry
Well Jerry thanks for the input and you confirmed my fear. I guess I'll go buy one of those dvd players that support all media and disk, no need to beat a dead dog,lol. I just have about 30 movies on -R,lmao.
Thats a good move. For the price of a new dvd player these days its not worth the problems the old ones cause. Jerry
