Well, I had a Chameleon chipped Xbox 1.0, whit Evox installed. It all played very well and had no problem. Yesterday while I wasd playing the console suddendly turned down. I tried to turn on it but I only heard the sound of the fan starting for a couple of seconds e then nothing. i opened the Xbox and removed the chip, but the problem remains the same: when I push the ON button the chipset fan (NOT the case fan) starts moving for about 2 seconds and then stops. There is no video signal. Any idea of what has happened? If my Xbox is dead, and I buy a new one is there a way to transfer the savegames from the old Hard disk to the new one? Many thanks
if you get a new xbox you could just switch the hdd over with your old one and everything you had on the damaged one will be on your new one save games an all
If the harddrive is locked you would first need to unlock it before trying to install it in another modded Xbox. Does the LED's around the eject button turn any colors? How was the Chameleon chip installed? Soldered? P and E wires soldered? RustyDog
Well, how can I unlock it if the old Xbox is dead? Is there a way? There were no solder in the chip, it was just installed with the golden pogo pins BUT being a 1.0 Xbox I had to UNSOLDER the holes (in the 1.0 Xbox the holes were soldered). Well the PCB hasn't been damaged by this operation, but who knows? Maybe some thin wire has been damaged... Anyway, NO light when I try to turn on the console, only the fan spinning for a couple of seconds and then nothing
If the harddrive was locked using ConFigMagic or you made a back up using the back up option in the EvolutionX dash you can unlock the harddrive with a PC. RustyDog
Sorry I don't understand... the old Xbox is dead, and the drive is locked. Are you saying that there is some way to connect the Xbox' HD with the Pc and then unlock it? Thank you very much, you are very patient.
First you need to know if the harddrive was locked using ConFigMagic. Or if you have ever made a back up of the C drive to your PC. If either is yes then you can unlock the harddrive with your PC. You'll need a program called UnlockX, install the harddrive in your PC and use UnlockX to unlock the drive and disable the password. If you used ConFigmagic to lock the harddrive the master password is TEAMASSEMBLY If you have a back up of the C drive then look to see if there's a folder called backup in it and inside you'll find the harddrive password.
