Hi, I bought a Starview 4 "The box Super USB" and I've put the required software onto my USB Stick in BIN File format. I don't know how to open the BIN file because my pc asks me to choose a relevant programme to open it and I think this might be where the problem is....also my Starview Box isn't recognising the software on the stick - Is this because I haven't saved it in the correct programme format? I'd really appreciate help on this one please.....I'm really struggling.
If it was zipped or rared did you unpack it first? You do not open the bin file on your PC. Format the stick via the SV4 first, then tranfer the firmware, (bin file), from PC to USB stick. With SV4 off plug in the stick, turn box on, press HDD after it boots and then install the firmware.
Brilliant! Thanks - I'm getting somewhere now. The SV4 allowed me to format the Storage Stick, then I put the BIN file onto it. I plugged the Storage Stick into the SV4 and it found the BIN file. I loaded the file onto it, then went to the channel installation and pressed automatic search. It's found all the channels, however, some have been duplicated, but worse than that.....Only BBC1, 2, 3 ITV, Channel 4 and 5 work. When you look at the channels in the channel menu all the others have what I can only describe as a green square with a dollar sign in it
press menu then 1570 this brings up secret menu go to keycode and turn it on then exit out to channel, hope this helps
That's worked a treat!! Thank you both for your help and advice, I really appreciate it...Good karma heading your way! ) Thanks again and have a great weekend
