Found AfterDawn helpful in my early days of starview 1,
so desided to give a little help back....

with the starview 1 -2 there is a cheap firmware patch available on Ebay that works a treat to automatically update the codes

    "" a friend of mine "" huk hum ... has a starview 4 usb

when installing the channels and turning the key code via 1570 in the menu your hannels may appear but with no Sound.

simply tirn the box off physically at the power switch wait a few secounds then turn it back on.

when its loaded itself back up the sound has now been activated and will work well.

"" he "" found it was best to do a manual scan aswell as a auto scan cause it finds a few extra channels

go to manual scan after first doing an auto scan.

"0" The "Down frequency" and the "Symbol rate"
    Enable "Network scan"

    and press ok

you may find a few double up channels when you go to channel edit but you can delete what you don`t want to keep.

Hope this helps you Guys !!

I`m as happy as a Pig in S#'te with the new box just slap a a big sd card or harddrive in the usb slot ...
you have the Equivelent of Sky Plus.

Old boxes have a great resale value to friends and the new starview 4 usb is available for about £110 Would happily recommend upgrading to all !!

    Peace to all

    hey ...

    unfair quote bud...

i offered the comment in good faith, there is F,all in it for me so i think your comment is a bit "dubious mmmm!!!!"

Senior member or not its people like you that put people like me off puting the time in to type a lenthy text tring to help.

by the time you've read all the jargon followed um-teen trails of bull.
i paid less than £2 and it was sorted 1 time hassle free.

i was well happy there after !!

I asked no one to buy from me and i personally don`t care if they take my advice or not. i offer no links or addresses,

So 2s 2 ..... your comment is unfair and unjustifed.

    " dubious help mmmm!!!! "

I'm the one who's not best pleased. It's hard enough figuring out who the chancers are from genuine (FREE) helpers. So posts like this are not helping and do nothing but make you appear to be a scammer.
