    hi guys.

noob here - be gentle :)

My DK Digital Divx hardware DVD player is jerky when playing divx/xvid files with a packed bitstream.

So... I have been using MPEG4 Modifier to remove the packed bitsream, with some success.

I have quite a few Divx files that give me a "start code not found at beginning of frame" error in MPEG4 Modifer when I try to open them.

Is there any utility that will help me to "repair" these files?

Am I doing the wrong thing in the first place ?

    Thanks chaps :)

    DivX and XviD files?
Such problems tended to effect MTK based players and it was only when you had more than 1 consecutive bframe that was packed. DivX should not have been effected since it only uses packed bitstream for 1 bframe.

Is there no firmware update for your player to fix the problem?

Doh! You're right. It was just XVid files.
I need to find out about a firmware upgrade.

Out of interest - do you know of a utility that will repair an XVid file with the affliction I described ?
