I'm not sure if this is a failed uninstall, or some kind of dodgy virus. I was helping my friend speed their PC up, and I was searching their startup items, and there's something called "null". It doesn't say anything else, what is it?

    Hey alex

This isn't a virus. It simply is a blank startup entry, commonly happens. You can delete it.

    Best Regards :D
