    Hi everyone.

I was just wondering why there's no fix yet for these (I always check the sticky) but that's not why I posted.

Now a question for someone who knows how it works behind the scenes:

Is is the manufacturers of these boxes that work on the fixes? i:e sponser the fixers or something?

If that's the case then there's no fix for Starview 1 and other STB's then we should seriously start a campaighn and refuse to buy their boxes and go with the other alternatives.

TO ALL MANUFACTURERS - IF YOU NO LONGER SUPPORT YOUR OLDER BOXES THEN WE WILL NOT BUY YOUR NEWER BRANDS AND GO FOR THE COMPETITION INSTEAD EVEN IF THEY MAY BE SLIGHTLY INFERIOR BUT PROVIDE FIXES !

Obviously the above only applies if manufacturers and fixers have connections otherwise just ignore the post lol...

Well it is rather a rant than a relevant post lol, if a manufacturer decides to no longer supply spares or support for a discontinued product, rendering the product of no further use then of course you will buy another similar product. But that is not really the case is it, the product you refer to is no longer produced, but is not made redundant, you are being inconvenienced by having to do something that was done for you, and lets face it all good things come to an end. Not saying that there will not be a fix I hope sincerely there is, just putting down the way that I see it, and I think this thread will be closed to be honest, there was no need to start a thread you could have posted this in a current one.

I can't believe the cheek of this thread! be patient for **** sake! and if they dont release a firmware for the starview 1 then look at it as you have had a good run and apreciate what you have had and how much money it has saved you and get your hand in your pocket and either buy another box OR start paying for your channels.

If your waiting for a definate answer from "manufacturers and fixers" it wont be posted in here at your request by anyone, you will have to wait and see, like everyone else.

    Hi,

I dont even have a box lol but friends do, I am asking if manufacturers and fixers are connected.

With regards to "you are being inconvenienced by having to do something that was done for you" - No because a majority of the box owners wont know how to fix it themselves, it's not inconvenience it's a piece of hardware possibly being made redundant in order for manufacturers generate more revenue.

I understand that model is not being made but neither is a 1995 Vauxhall Astra but you can still get parts from main dealers, if Vauxhall stopped making the part's for the old model then comsumers will have no confidence in buying the newer models and yes they do make money on it.

I just want to know if manufacturers and fixers are connected, I didnt want to hijack someone elses thread and if I wish to start a thread then I should be entitled to do so (that want meant to sound cheeky sorry)

If the mods want to close the thread because they feel it's not appropriate then that's fine, im not exactly posting keys here mind or asking where to get a starview 1 fix.

    @ HiTeck

Relax dude, is everything ok at home mate lol....

I have Sky actually so not bothered personally, just want to know if there is connection mate and of there's no fix coming ever (early days I know) then people should consider throwing money at manufacturers that provide prompt support/fixes etc even for the old stuff.

Everything is fine at home "Dude", thanks for asking ;)

You said it "(early days)" so before starting a pointless thread petitioning for something that MAY already be in the process of being fixed, just wait and see like everyone else has to.

    Edit,

All updates will be posted here>>> http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/722659
