My genuine starview 1 keeps turning its self off and on. I thought it might be a software problem so I have been trying to update with no success. The problem is the box will not stay on long enough for the flash to finish; I have tried various different methods including starting the flash and then powering up the box. This was attempted several different times with the gtrom program saying flash failed because the box rebooted its self.

Has anyone has the same problem and would I be right in thinking if I replace the PSU board in the starview this could fix the problem as I think it could be a faulty CAP, just an educated guess ?????

Stick it in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer for 10 minutes then try flashing it.

I have no idea if this will work but I think it sounds rather kinky

If you don’t have any serious advices then don’t bother. I think I have solved the problem.

    1st do a factory rest
    2nd rest all keys

Then try to flash again. This worked for me although I haven’t tried to scan yet I will let you know the out come.

see how u go ,if u still have freezing/rebooting problems check internal caps on boards not domed or leaking having unplugged box first.

I tried that one with a DVD that was over heating before I could get the disk to pop and it worked

starview seam to be fine now I had to delete the keys and factory reset. It must have been conflicting with one of the setting on the box and when I rest the box it reset all setting back to factor setting thus eliminating the problem of Turing its self off

    Hello Experts,
I have come back again....with a problem with my STar**** Clone box as summarized below:
-whenever i am switching it ON it boots and as soon as the channel no. apperas (Say0001) it freezes up showing a random number/letter.( 2, 6, p)
-i have tried to play with it and realised that as when the key EMU is OFF and no Vir*** cable is connected at the back, it does not freezes, but as soon as the Key EMU is ON, it again freezes up.
    - i have reflased it with the proper clone s/w and it was successful.
-when i restarted the box the problem still persists.
    - i do not know, would i call it as dead box or it can be still fixed.

Any help would be appreciated :)

    A sad Soul

Download this flash data and the rom again; it might be that one of these are corrupt

    Use the link below

    http://www.4shared.com/account/home.jsp

    Before you re-flash

    1) Turn emu OFF
    2) Reset all keys in the negravision
    3) Do a factory rest

Now tray to re-flash and see how you get on
