    Press Menu > System Information and tell us what the API is please

    Starvi*w 1 and 2 use different firmware

    Starvi*w 1
    You will need to know if you have a clone or genuine

    Count the vents on top

    18x7 = Clone
    25x7 = Genuine
    13x7 = 1st Generation

    Also looking from the front
    Scart to the left = Clone
    Scart to the right = Genuine

    Also you can go here to see some pics
    http://www.freewebs.com/dooby2oon

    You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w Software Uploader), found in the Starvi*w software folder of the link.

    You will need version 4.00 firmware for GENUINES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.
    You will need version 2.57_FIXED firmware for CLONES found in "Starvi*w" firmware folder.
    You will need version 4.50 firmware for THE B0X found in "THE B0X" firmware folder.

    Ok if its a clone it probally has the normal 2.57 on it and if you update it with 2.57_FIXED , it will auto roll the codes for you

    You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

    Null Modem Cable

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

    If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

    USB Adapter info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx...t10&doy=search&MenuName=USB to Serial Adaptor

    These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay.

    Ok try do another auto scan , sometimes it picks up 33 channels , you might have to do auto scan 2 or 3 times to get ALL channels

    If that fails try this method below

    Menu > Factory Setting
    PIN 0000
    OK to delete

    Turn box off at the back for a minute and turn back on

    English > Installation
    Choose Provider etc
    Automatic Scan
    Press OK
    176 Channels found
    Exit

    Press Menu then 1570
    Turn EMU key ON

    Exit , exit , exit

    , Ok so you have all your channels up and running now ?

    To test if the auto roll works

    Press Menu then 1570 and in Nagravision change the numbers in 00 (e.g. 12 34 56 78 90 00 12) and press OK to store , Exit back , and then press "Set Default Key"
    Exit back and tune into S*Y Sports and let it update the codes :)
