Hope anyone can help. I have updated my starview 2(Geniun) with the latest firmware. After it was done I've switched the box off and back on again. All it comes up with is 0 on the screen and I cannot do anything. Box is frozen, remote doesn't work either. I have tried loading the logo file with no luck. Keeps coming up update failed. I have tried rolling back to the previous version still no luck. Am I doing anything wrong? PLEASE Help. I've never had problems before upgrading firmware. The latest firmware I've downloaded was from the TCB toolbar
this might help you mine was frozen after this the fix this worked for me ....... Connect the box to the pc with your cable but switch it off at the back. Load the correct firmware bin file into GTRom & set it to the correct com port, and select App file only then hit Download. Only then switch on at the back to power on the box. It may take a few sec. so wait at least 30 sec.if it dont work fist time keep trying
hi guys..i didnt want to start a new thread cos theres thousands about lol...this is a differ Q...can som1 help me with this pls? I have a SV2 The Box, loaded the new FW couple of days ago, its working great, getting all channels etc... the problem is...now and then it keeps on displaying Scrambled or Bad Channel, for 1 second, then dissapears and works fine.. i've had this box for 1 year and had this problem from day 1, even with the FW it came with...can any1 help pls? thanks alot, appreciated.
Gerrard08 I've Seen That Problem Before On The Starview 1, You Are Right It's The Firmware... You Can Either Put Up With It And Wait Till Another Firmware Release, Or Go Back To V4.54 And Manually Enter The Keys... Personally I'd Put Up With The Problem And Wait Till The Next Update Of The Firmware... When VM Changes The Key Encryption Method Like A Week Last Thursday, The Programmers Rush To Get The Firmware Fixed And Released... Which Can Lead To A Few Bugs Like This One... The V4.51 Was The FW That I Was Using And Although It Had A Few Bugs (Like Crashing Every Couple Of Days, EPG Refresh And Update Routines Omitted) It Still Lasted Over 2 Years Auto-Updating... Last Year Around This Time Everyone Was Scrammbling For A New Update, Mine Just Kept Going... Anywayz Beggerz Can't Be Choozerz...
pac2000..thanks for the advice..and i think i'll just put up with it, cos its not a major problem..actually when you think of it..its nothing really.. cheers anywayz.
Did you download firmware on to box then did you put the Box logo software on before trying to see if yr box worked? I only put firmware on first and my box was dead until I put the Logo stuff on the box.
