I have tried 4.55 but that message keeps on coming up do i have to download somethin else i carnt figure out why that message keeps coming up i have tried with bigmaq still same
Download Winrar to unzip the file, I presume this is what you have downloaded The Box 4.55.rar and from Eamo's FTA Library, go back in there and get Winrar it is in there also.
Have you downloaded what I posted up there, the 4.55 with instructions, it is a bit late now mate, I have to get off so come back on tomorrow an, or go to the link Starview 2nd line at the bottom of my post and see if you can follow the guide, but make sure that you have the file that I posted.
sorry to but in..... your conversation but i have done the same thing box is up and runing converted the rar by dowloading wrar380 just wanted to no what cmd means as i have upload my software before and normal it will just say complete after loading but it said sending cmd can you shead any light what that means please thanks
Hi guys, Have a Starview box. But dont know which one. Had it a couple of years now and its silver. Tried some key codes that i have found posted but they only work for about 10mins or so. Can someone give me a clue about which box i have and if there is a 'fix' for it. Got to be honest most of this stuff is way over my head and totally confusing me. Any help at all would be great.
What does it say in the top left corner at front of box, if it says Starview - then it is Starview 1, if it says The Box - then it is Starview 2. No need to mention anymore if you have had it a couple of years, it will most likely be the Starview 1 anyway, also make sure that you have a genuine one, count the vents on the top from the to the back should be 25x7, unless it is a 1st generation. And no there is no fix out for that model.
Hi Malci, looks like i have a Starview 1 by the sounds of it. But the vents are 18 x 7. Is that a genuine box? Got it from ebay so hard to know. Do you think there will be a fix for it eventually or is it a no hoper. Thanks
I doubt it very much as that sounds to me like a clone box and not genuine, there is none for the genuine as yet, and can't be definitive that there will be, so as for the clones!!! anyway check and compare your box here >>>>> see if it is a clone or 1st generation, but as I said it sounds like a clone >> http://www.freewebs.com/svclones/

Checked the link and the back of box looks like clone but i have original controls so looks like my box is 1st starview ever made and ok. Havent checked inside yet. Thanks for all your help and if there is ever a fix found will it be posted here?

Malci, just one last question. Do you think it would be worthwhile just buying a new up to date box if its unlikey they will ever be a fix. Would you recomend any.

So if you are going to invest in another then have a look here at the link below, the Eurovox Max EX1000 Sl is a neat and compact box, that is what I would go for personally, but at the end of the day it is a personal choice.
