starview 2 the box

    I've read many things on this site and have tried them all to get my box working apart from connecting to a p.c. because I have a mac can anyone help. Also when I press menu 1570 nothing happens

    ur box is possibly freeview no access to turn emu on u need to flash it as in update firmware,dont know about flashing from a mac,does it have a serial port,the same as on the box?

    no will have to get someone with a pc.Is it pretty straight forward from there?

    ll firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos Library.

    You will need the GTromloader, (Starvi*w Software Uploader), found in the Starvi*w software folder of the link.

    You will need version 4.50 firmware IRELAND for THE B0X found in "THE B0X" firmware folder.

    You will need version 4.51 firmware UK for THE B0X found in "THE B0X" firmware folder.

    And please download the Starvi*w PDF guide,(this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything.This can be found in the Starvi*w Documentation folder in the link.



    Updating Firmware

    Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY.
    (The Starvi*w does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM)

    Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT
    that matches the one that is being used

    Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC.

    Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase
    then Download completed message on your PC.
    Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before
    removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starvi*w will then reboot

    Disconnect from PC and connect back up to the TV
