starview 3 cant download anything help

    hi iv got the rs232 cable and disk cant download it

    it says com 42 and i cant choose that because it only shows com 1 , com 2, 3, 4

    And I did say pay particular attention in the link I gave you to setting up your comm ports. It will tell you how to.

    it says cant open serial port last error the system cannot find the file specified

    If you read the link all your answers are there, e.g. file wont open because you havent used winrar/winzip to unwrap it and pc wont connect because you havent reasigned the comm port. The link I gave you tells you how to do all this.

    when i go to the device manager it shows a question mark next to profilic usb to rs232, whats the question mark suppose to mean

    It means you have loaded a driver from the disk you got with it. If you havent go the disk use the drivers link within the link I gave you.

    If you have a ? mark then you havent loaded the correct driver for your OS. Did you get a disk and did you load the correct driver, i.e XP or Vista dependent on your system.

    ! this mark comes up iv checked this really is doin me headin i wish some one could come and help me out. doles anyone frm manchester know how to do all this im willing to pay if you can come n set it for me

    I am trying to help you out??? A ! mark means there is a device error.Right-click on the device in the device manager, and select uninstall device.Turn off your PC and then back on and leave the adapter plugged in PnP may pick it up, if not reinstall the driver.

    @Karl Oh I am trying believe me ;) "Trying" been the word.

    thankyouuuu very much that seems to have worked, iv managed 2 download it. after connecting to tv it says data is being updated 0% nothings being updated.

    Press menu and system info, I just want to see if the firmware did download. If it did just press menu, type 1570 on remote make sure key emu is on and press deault key. Exit out to Sly Sports to update.
